COMMISSIONS
Original abstract paintings, commissioned to your space.
Large scale commission, residential great room. Photographed in a project by Architect Jeremy Corkern @jeremycorkernstudio.
“Made with you, not just for you. Our conversation becomes part of the painting — and it could never have come from me alone.”
Now booking approximately four to six weeks out. Inquire to reserve your slot.
Most of my collectors come to me with a specific wall in mind — a dining room, a primary bedroom, a powder room, a stairwell, a commercial lobby. They've been living with the space, they know the feeling they want, and they're ready for a painting that was made for that room and no other.
That's what a commission is. Not a print, not a reproduction, not a piece pulled from inventory. A new, original painting — made in my Nashville studio, sized to your wall, calibrated to your light, and delivered ready to hang.
The process is simple and it's the same whether you're an interior designer specifying for a client or a collector working with me directly. For interior designers: full trade pricing and program details are on the Trade Program page.
The process
1. We begin with a conversation. Tell me about the space, the size you're considering, and a painting from my existing work that speaks to you. That painting becomes our starting point — the visual language we'll build from. You'll send me a photo of the room and any color preferences. I'll send a draft invoice.
2. Deposit secures your slot. Payment is due upon agreement. Once received, you're on the calendar and I begin work.
3. I paint two options, simultaneously. This is unusual and intentional. Commissioning a painting is a meaningful decision, and I want you to have choice. I work both pieces in parallel, in conversation with each other.
4. First reveal. When both paintings are complete, I send video and photos. You select the direction you want to move forward with.
5. First round of revisions. You tell me what you'd like adjusted. I refine the painting and send the next reveal.
6. Second and final round of revisions. If further refinement is needed, we make those adjustments. After this round, the painting is finalized.
7. The painting ships rolled, stretched fresh on arrival. Rather than risk damage in transit on a stretched canvas, I roll the finished work and ship it to a framer near your delivery address. They stretch it onto fresh stretcher bars, then hand-deliver it to your doorstep — anywhere in the continental United States. The work arrives crisp, taut, and ready to hang.
8. Float framing is available on request. If you'd like a float frame, I coordinate this with the framer on your behalf. Pricing varies by size and frame profile and is billed separately.
From deposit to delivery: approximately four weeks, depending on current studio schedule.
Sizes & pricing
All commissions are original paintings on canvas, stretched and delivered ready to hang. Pricing includes the painting, the stretching service, and gallery-quality fabrication. Shipping and delivery coordination is a flat $250 to anywhere in the continental U.S.
MEDIUM
30"–48" · $5,500
Above a console, a bedroom mantel, a dining buffet, a powder room. The most frequently commissioned scale for residential interiors.
LARGE
48"–60" · $7,500
A statement scale. Above a sofa, the focal wall of a primary bedroom, a stair landing, a substantial entryway. Most often specified by interior designers for residential focal points.
EXTRA LARGE
60"+ · $8,500 and up
Architectural-scale work. Double-height entries, great rooms, commercial lobbies, restaurants, and hospitality projects. Pricing varies by final dimensions; quoted during inquiry.
DIPTYCHS & TRIPTYCHS · By quote — multi-panel commissions are priced based on overall scale and complexity.
OVERSIZED & ARCHITECTURAL · By quote — for the largest walls there's effectively no upper limit. I build the work across stretched canvas tiles that reassemble seamlessly on site, so I can meet virtually any dimension — ideal for hotel lobbies, double-height entries, and large commercial installations.
SHIPPING & DELIVERY COORDINATION · $250 flat, anywhere in the continental U.S. Includes the completed painting rolled and shipped to a framer near your delivery address, fresh stretching onto quality stretcher bars at the destination, and white-glove doorstep delivery. The canvas arrives taut, undamaged, and ready to hang.
BEFORE IT SHIPS · I send multiple videos of the finished work before it leaves the studio — for both commissions and ready-to-ship pieces — so you see exactly what's arriving.
A note for interior designers
A meaningful portion of my work is commissioned through interior designers and architects on behalf of their clients. The process above is designed to make specification simple — I'll work directly with you or with your client, send progress documentation to either or both parties, and coordinate delivery to align with your install schedule. The Portfolio page shows representative work across three signature series, with downloadable tear sheets you can forward to clients.
